>was apart of the Soviet Union >declared independence >least corrupt in East Europe >considered Baltic tech tiger
How did Estonia manage to avoid being a post-Soviet corrupt hell hole in East Europe? They never inherited a corrupt bureaucracy…How did they pull it off?
Simple. The genetic mixing with germans, danes, swedes. Plus the proximity of Helsinki and Stockholm. Biology is the basis of life.

Kek is it really that simple? I will admit that, looking at at maps of Europe, you see a pattern among “germanic” countries, but I always thought that external factors mattered as well.
However Estonia survived soviet external factors and managed to do well in corruption measurements… but it is interesting that you didn’t end up like other Post-Soviet countries, corrupt bureaucracy, low trust society, etc
I just hope they kick the rest of the R*ssians out of their country before the fifth column start chimping out like in Ukraine and R*ssia starts their "special operation".

Another one, economic freedom index. Most post-ussr/post communists nations are red or yellow, but Baltic somehow escaped the economic statism
