Wars are not only making gains retard. Mantaining such "gains" might also be costly for the russians, since they might be an easy target for guerrila warfare, saboteurs and won't be able to utilize the infrastructure for a protracted time.
Making gains while losing substantial amounts of equipment and personal is not a situation Russia can afford.

Probably, however, it's clear that THEY HAVE done substantial damage to Russian equipment and have also killed lots of russians. The war has been going on for almost 3 months, Ukrainians are still recruiting hundreds of thousand soldiers and also being armed by NATO now.
I ask you, for how long can Russia sustain a protracted war while taking considerable losses both in equipment and in human lives? I know the average russian is a brainless sheep, but for how long will they not think and be used as canon trash?
