I'd point out that the US has been explicitly working toward Ukrainian independence for the last 30 years, and Euromaidan was likely a CIA-sponsored color revolution. Since 2014, we've been stepping up aid to Ukraine, and in January of this year (before the war) airlifted hundreds of millions in weapons to Zelensky. We didn't say shit when in Februrary Zelensky said he wanted to make Ukraine a nuclear power (in violation of the Budahpest Memorandum). We started joint NATO. Ukrainian military exercises last September despite Russia's protests. If we were trying to appease or coopt Russia in order to fight chinks, we did a terrible fucking job of it.

ps ALSO ceding ground to Russia resolves NOTHING. Styx, you dumb ass fuck. You burgers always do this, you cuck out and expect the other side to courteously cuck out in turn and have a dead zone between you to avoid friction. And Russia always just moves the goal post further and restarts the tension.

Right now US is fucking with Russia the way it does because of the Taiwan thing. Fighting two wars would be very annoying, so this is purely a proxy one. But agreeing on degradation of Ukraine will net US NOTHING. Half a year later Russia will start the same shit again with a much stronger position and then US will do a surprised pikachu face AGAIN as it comes back to the same situation but much worse now. If you want close down this theatre Russia needs to concede and Ukraine needs to be fortified somehow, because Russian imperial reconstruction won't stop at some slivers along the black sea.
