I've read polish troops are already in Ukraine and en route to Kharkiv and will also get stationed at the western ukrainian border to belarus soon, so the ukrainian units guarding it can get transfered to the Donbas asap.

Because the entire pro-Russian stance is based off of spite. They know that Russia is an absolute shithole, and that life under them wouldn’t be better at all. In fact, it would be worse off. But they hold such a large hatred for their home country and/or government that they will mindlessly support any potential “rival” to it, even if said rival would fuck them over in the same fashion. They don’t actually believe in the goodness of Russia, they just hate their own country that much.
