cops just want their paycheck. They don't want to die. Going in to save the kids... not only would it put them at significant risk of dying, it would also put them at risk of being fired for recklessness. So from a practical perspective you can see what's going on here.
The other issue is basically a result of mass immigration. Ultimately, the cops have no connection to the kids or their parents. They will not feel any shame at the idea of letting those kids die because they're just random spicos who came across the border. It's nobody and they're just as good as the next million spics that will come across.
Mass immigration creates an impersonal society where nobody is related to anybody else, nobody has any reason to care about anybody else... so we're all just doing the minimum to get our paycheck and get ours. There's no sense of investment into society... since the society won't be yours by next year anyway. Any investments you make will be given to the new arrivals.
