It literally won't happen. In 2012, you had a Democratic president, a Democratic senate, and a Democratic House. An entire classroom of Kindergarteners were killed. Obama put forth the most inneffective, lukewarm, watered down, do nothing gun control bill ever concieved. IT DIDN'T EVEN GET CLOSE TO MAKING IT TO A VOTE IN THE SENATE BEFORE IT DIED. It literally never got close to getting voted on, let alone passed. And it was a bill that was so useless it didn't even have anything to do with how the Sandy Hook shooter got his gun.
You have to get SIXTY votes in the senate to pass gun bills. SIXTY. I don't think I need to tell you guys how literally impossible that is in todays enviornment.

The AR-15 is easily the most common and ubiquitous rifle in the US. There are far, FAR more guns in the US than people. It's somewhere north of half a billion guns, but we honestly don't know as there is no gun registration in the US.
There are more AR-15 rifles in the US than there are people in any single European country.
And guess what? If they did somehow do something about AR type rifles, the supreme court has already ruled that arms "in common use" are protected without question. Guess which firearm is the most commonly used today?
