I had a great vacation in Japan in March 2020 and got my fill of traveling. Arrived a few days before borders closed because of the coof restrictions. It was great being able to visit all the popular sights almost completely void of foreign and domestic tourists. Still not taking the vaxx or subjecting myself to the nose rape by the way.

I believe they didn't start closing tourist attractions and the likes down until the summer came along. When I was there everything was still open, just that no foreign tourists dared travel and a lot of Japanese just huddled in their homes.
