Since i was a child, as a frenchies, i was proud of Lousiana... french heritage... (and i was anti-american i’ve changes since)
Was i wrong ? To ”fanstasm” Lousiana ?
Tell me, please...

No, we are also proud of our French heritage.
Our grandparents passed it on to us, even if they couldn't pass the language (their parents hid it from them and they got told to "speak white" at school)

What are u on, about ? Dear SpanishAnon ?
I mean, your thread ?

Checked and btw 10% of Lafayette still speaks it for example

I want Any Forumss reaction to us going our own way in regards to race. I don't want Cajuns to have dual loyalties between the greater white world and us.

I want a degree of separatism not national socialism. I want to be able to influence politics to increase our culture and language

The shittiest part pf being a Cajun is knowing your grandparents were too fucking illiterate to spell in French so the English said fuck this if we’re gonna teach them how to spell we’re gonna just teach them English instead.

Illiteracy in French didn't start until after the Civil war when the French school funding got pulled during reconstruction.

My great Aunt spoke fluent french. She was born on 1908. I remember her always saying “ca ces’t maladie” everytime I came in from playing outside and slammed her screen door. She couldn’t write though, she could barely spell her first name.

Feels extremely bad. I wish I had grown up with Cajun French. The American government fucked us, bros.

Are u a Lousiana man in spain ? Or a Lousiana man in Lousiana with a vpn ?

What is ur ethnics/race ? Ur ancestors ?

LONG LIVE CREOLE LONG LIVE CAJUN !
(In french we say Créole... qnd patwa is Patois ...)
(Just sad since i was 16 yo to know the crime, the high numbers murder and the cost of politics there (Millions $$$ for the élection campain : the same price as for New York or Los Angeles mayor élection but new Orléans is 14 times less inhabited... fuck)

LES (Z’ ) HARICOTS SONT PAS SALÉES ! I love zydeco

Checked. Yeah I mean can you really blame them when there were not easily accessible schools?

Drove through there recently. It's in a state of perpetual reconstruction because it gets blown away by monsterous hurricanes every 3-4 years. I was there in April and every 3rd house was covered in blue tarps. Houma's a shithole, Thibodaux's the nice part of that area, New Iberia seemed alright, Lafayette is the main Cajun city and Lake Charles is just a shit oil town, more Texas than Louisiana.

I like them, but I think that culture is dying. I am in a similar boat as the son of a Spanish texan

Why don't you Cajun baws just revive your own French Créole language?

>What is ur ethnics/race ? Ur ancestors ?
Half Irish Half Cajun (which is sort of a mix of Scandi, French, a smattering of Italian, Irish, etc. and a bit of Native etc, but 99% Euro personally).

Ancestors are complicated but Grandmother family from France and her Father was Cajun/German.

"Cajun" term is being appropriated by non creole people so at this point I'm toying with an alternative, will make a thread soon on it.

why did you circle me? Is something coming?

Lake Charles and Beaumont go together like peas and carrots.

Beaumont, of course, is influenced more by Cajun culture

Funny story my wife’s great uncle told us when he was in school learning English. The teacher was trying to teach them the numbers in English. She got to to the number “two” and asked the students to “say two.” Most of the class got up and began leaving. The teacher was wondering what the hell was going on, when one of the students told her “you said c’est tout right?” It’s french for that’s all or finished.

No they just forced them to learn English and never use French in school. My grandpa’s teachers would beat him if he spoke in French.
