Americans believe there is a right to bear arms, or weapon ownership including various types of guns and thus many places make it accessible to varying degrees.

Personally, I think it should just be a bit harder to gain guns in terms of wait times and repeated check ins but not total bans. Like that Vegas shooter had like 20-30 year old permits and in those cases never really have to check in for mental health or anything
