I will never experience this and no amount of hard work and self-improvement will change that, my appartment will always be empty and devoid of family atmosphere. He didn't had to deal with stupid pampered whores I see nowadays. Back then being a whore was very shameful and humiliating business. Prostitute's life was pretty short and risky, she had to depend on her pimp, there was a high chance of getting kidnapped, enslaved & trafficked. I think these are simple demands of a man who is expected to work hard for a large swathe of his own lifespan, and if I can't have these things I see no reason that I should work at all, save for sustaining myself, but in that case I will do the bare fucking minimum and I certainly won't chase any sort of involved career. It's better in this divided world to remain free and untethered, and simply be as opportunistic and ruthless as possible to survive. I have no incentive to be a hard working, honest member of society when society won't reward me back.

I mean I get not wanting to work. I worked almost 10 years out on a farm. Had to ride my bike 8 miles out of town every morning at dawn, then ride my bike 8 miles back after sundown, sometimes 5, usually 6, and sometimes even 7 days a week… for almost 10 years. Now I have a pretty cushy job, though. Make good money, am well liked, and don’t kill myself every day. I think the trick is just to not get complacent. Work is only work on the bottom of the ladder.
