The entire mantra of Globohomo is that race is nothing but skin colour, melanin, and that we are identical underneath - that race is nothing but pigmentation, therefore all separation of race in one's mind is unjustified and hateful.
AI comes along and can predict race based on skeletal structure, the way one uses words, on behavior etc. etc. and when left to its own devices (no pun), AI will almost always become racist (see: Tay AI [RIP]).
The stark reality of a machine cutting though the bullshit and impartially breaking the conditioning, because it can't be conditioned without explicitly programming it to avoid certain elements of reality, is what they view as "problematic" - it comes as if an alien race would and sees that races are truly different in mind, in body and in spirit.

Companies using this software to make diagnosis/decisions can be sued for being racist when it comes out that the AI treated people differently. There was a case the NFL settled because a brain damage calculator thought black people had less IQ and thus black players were getting denied claims of concussions causing their brain damage.
