That the only answer to the current political impasses that the fake shit that our "leaders" divide us with (namely economic class, race, and relative resource distribution) can only be overcome once the majority of people recognize a common enemy to unite us as a species (like the Titans represented in the anime).
That could be climate change for example, or an unstable State actor acting aggressively on the world stage like Russia right now or Germany back in the 40's, or even an extinction event like a meteor strike or something.
Would the majority of this planet be capable of banding together to meet a challenge like that?

I'm convinced the ending of AOT was sabotaged by some international clique into having a boring capeshit ending, because the way it was heading, it was looking like it was going to be what people in the west needed to see. The reduction of Eren's actions from being "the future of my people at any cost" to "I just wanted a crumb of asian pussy!" seems like a deliberate character assassination designed to demoralize anyone who might have sympathized with him, reducing him to basically the archetypal incel chud who would shoot up a walmart. If the story was allowed to continue as the mangaka intended, many young millenials/zoomers who are somewhat aware of what is going on in the world may have rejected the useless cuckservative "prove your enemy wrong" mindset and embraced the more practical "destroy those who wish to destroy you" mindset. A real shame, AOT could've been a classic remembered for decades, but it ended up just repeating what a thousand feel-good stories have said before. Armong is a faggot.

Imagine not only misinterpreting the story so hard that you come to the exact opposite conclusion of what happens in the story; you ignore characters in the story literally talking about whether or not humans can unite against a common enemy and literally saying aloud that it's a retarded concept. They don't have peace inside the walls when united against the Titan threat. The entire world does not come together in friendship to celebrate the death of the Attack Titan.
The only message conveyed by Attack on Titan is
>Great sacrifice has to be made to enact great change. In a cruel world, you can take no half measures. Sometimes you have to do terrible things to protect your home and your people.
Grisha Yaeger constantly falls to his knees and laments the terrible things he has to do to free his people from enslavement and hatred. He is always reminded that if he gives up, everyone who died to get him where he is will have died for nothing. So he slaughters innocent people because he has to, not because he wants to. Eren Yaeger fails at the end of the story. He fails to sacrifice his friends in pursuit of freedom. As a result, a generation after his friends die, his people are exterminated because he failed to finish the terrible action that needed to be taken in order to break the cycle of hatred between his people and the rest of the world.
The original ending of Attack on Titan was horrible. The revised ending where Eldia is destroyed is also bad, but at least is thematically consistent and is just shows a bad end.
