Russia's goals in the war are pretty clearly defined compared to Ukraine's/USA's goals.

If Ukraine ends up joining NATO, a coast-less Ukraine will be much easier for us to contain in military terms.
Ukraine/USA goals: >"Defeat Russia" - zero explanation what that means. >Liberate all of occupied territories (including Donbass and Crimea) - which is practically impossible at this point. (even if Russia would withdraw completely, the clusterfuck that would unfold with Crimean/Donbass resistance against Ukrainian forces would be of epic proportions and last for decades) >Keep fighting until the end - which end? End of what? Until the end of Ukraine? Because Russia won't "end" any time soon.
The whole UA/US resistance campaign against Russia seems like either an attempt to cause maximum damage to Russia (at Ukraine's expense), but with zero chances to destroy or “defeat” Russia. Or a panicked knee-jerk reaction to Russia’s invasion, with no long-term achievable goals in mind.
