Riddle me this, /leftypol/

"I begin by acknowledging the traditional owners of the land on which we meet. I pay my respects to their elders, past, present and emerging."

We hear this from our politicians.
We hear this from our colleagues.
We even hear this when out for dinner and a fucking show.

I understand that there are certain economic advantages of left wing politics for the lower classes, but:
Don't you find this incessant "worship of Aboriginals" shit extremely cringe and demoralising?
How can you as a straight, white, left-wing male stomach this?

Honest question.

Abbos are seriously odd looking
Look that those fingers even

I can't even talk shit, since the retards in the USA worship basketball americans and act like they're precious treasures to be protected at all cost

If you said that in Europe you'd be a nazi.

Trying to honestly understand the /leftypol/ position on this.
If I can see a good justification, I'll get on board.
Much of their political outlook can be rationalised, but I'm having a hard time with this one.

Nah. You if you make comparisons to gypsies and then explain that they're worse, they'll completely understand.

Canada does it, New Zealand does it. It's all about acknowledging you're not the first ones here and that we should respect their thoughts and opionions regardless of our own

Why the fuck should I respect their thoughts and opinions?

>Demoralised by random people saying meaningless shit.
You were never going to make it anyway.

>It's all about acknowledging you're not the first ones here
And? The term indigenous is a social construct.

Leaders of key societal institutions aren't "random people". Listen to the victory/concession speeches of Albo/Scomo, for example. Both did it.

And now you're talking about it.
Just ignore it lol

1. They're not necessarily the first ones here - we don't know, since they hide the potential evidence at e.g. Lake Mungo
2. Everywhere in the world has a "first ones", wouldn't it strike you as absurd for e.g. Britons to acknowledge Cheddar Man's claim
3. Given the (absolute) state of "the science" - i.e. plate tectonics and evolution - why are you drawing the line at arbitrary points in the history of genomic and continental drift? Isn't protozoic sludge the real traditional owner?
4. If Canada and New Zealand jumped off a bridge, would you do it?
5. I only just realised you're trolling, but I'm going to keep going, fuck you
6. Aboriginals have full citizenship rights, including free speech, the right to run for office, etc, and political representation by default includes them - why do their thoughts and opinions deserve additional respect>
7. What does "traditional ownership" actually mean? Can they charge rent? Are you going to let them have your house? (Of course not)
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

I recognise the traditional owners of this land, the British Empire, and pay my respects to their monarchs past and present.

>6. Aboriginals have full citizenship rights, including free speech, the right to run for office, etc, and political representation by default includes them - why do their thoughts and opinions deserve additional respect
This is exactly what I'm talking about
>7. What does "traditional ownership" actually mean? Can they charge rent? Are you going to let them have your house? (Of course not)
They actually do want this: paytherent.net.au

Forget the "straight white male" bit. You could just as easily be a "straight Asian male", e.g. born in Australia but with Chinese parents, for example.
Why should you give a fuck about all this?

And that's how little Johnny ended his entire career

this guy was in the film The Proposition.
Great Meatpie Western film. Any Forums would love it.

It's started here too where some faggot wants to acknowledge that we're on 'stolen land' and lists a bunch of tribes my ancestors fought. Sorry, not sorry.

>denies me my (you)
outrageous

btw I know that lefties/abos want ppl to "pay the rent", i guess i should've been clearer: the average "aboriginal respecter" has no intention of paying the rent

>the average "aboriginal respecter" has no intention of paying the rent
I find that hard to believe. They've already bent the knee psychologically and are used to paying tax.
And you're telling me they'll voice their objection to an equity tax and be called racists? Yeah, right.

>It's started here too
>Sorry, not sorry
I feel for you user, but you've got it nowhere near as bad as us. I don't hear your leaders starting every fucking speech or meeting with some platitude about the vanquished natives.
Unless I'm missing something?

i should've been even clearer

they have no intention of paying the rent right now
they think they're just throwing them a bone
many don't even realise that the abos are asking for money
but yes, when the time comes, they will cough up rather than be called racist, and they will convince themselves that they're happy with it

I'm sure some of the politicians that love illegals would start every speech or meeting with those platitudes if they thought they could get away with it. I've only seen it in some corporate emails and at meetings with more radical activists. I don't know how widespread it will become, but I'm not optimistic about it because they already push 'indigenous peoples' day' instead of Columbus day.

This is how you know your group is on the way out. I’d try to join in with the next emerging group. That would most likely be a genetically enhanced non-regionally associated humanoid. We will create a new race that will live the radical right wing ideal of constant struggle and constant improvement. Leftism does not even wish to propagate. Leftists are a dying bred of people because they simply don’t replace their numbers. They will vanish.

They won't "convince themselves", they'll be relieved that it finally happened.

All I can say is, be thankful you have the 2nd amendment, despite it seemingly being on life support at the moment.

lol what

It's not even that I hate Aboriginals or anything like that.
It just seems like divisible bullshit with no end point.
When will it be enough?
When I was a kid, it was all about everyone coming together as one, which I was fully on board with.
It seems that now we're doing the opposite of that -- we're enshrining and celebrating a permanent societal division.

Someone please show me how I'm wrong.

divisive*

Uh, first amendment* lol
