On April 18, the NY Attorney General named and criticized Any Forums, along with Twitch and other sites where the attack was broadcast live by the suspect. He said he has launched an investigation into how the suspect's thoughts were amplified.
The incident occurred on the 14th at a supermarket where "95% of the customers are black" (an employee); 13 people were shot, 11 of whom were black.

The statement, which is full of white supremacist content, states, "I was not born a racist, nor did I grow up to be one. I only became a racist after learning the truth.
According to the statement, the suspect began using Any Forums in May 2020 out of "extreme boredom. He first looked at boards (discussion boards) about firearms and the outdoors, but eventually found his way to "Political Incorrect" boards.
