yes there is a huge body of work suggesting that oil is abiotic in nature, produced by the same processes that create diamonds and coal (i.e. carbon, pressure, heat).
the USSR under Stalin pioneered this field and used it to open the oil and gas fields of Kazakhstan and surrounding -Stan countries back in the 50s and 60s but persuasive research has been released by oil firms out of Houston as well. However, this research is suppressed because if the truth comes out- that oil is not, in fact, a scare and finite resource but one which is regularly and steadily replaced- the value will crash. Oil companies are right up there with financial institutions and pharmaceutical companies when it comes to entities with their boot on the neck of the human race in terms of control. Imagine the riots!
