I have no idea what's happening to society right now, this is on par with Dada more or less. There are more examples like this movie where some fandom/popular thing tries to make some bizarre mix of fantasy and reality and it just goes...to far. New ideas don't happen much because it's cheaper to stagnate and remaking/rebrand old ones into a more modern format. It just makes the old ideas formless and unwanted by the new generation.
