They get away with it because most don't care. They can't piece together the information because they don't have access to all of it. If someone were in a fusion center that all the intelligence flowed into, they would be able to see things on a far granular level than what's being posted. These images are all after the fact. Events are unfolding right in real-time. They can't be correlated, yet.

We have gotten so dumb we forgot that plants grow in every single element they use to make concrete.
