I used to work scaffolding at an oil refinery. We had a dude there who would climb 200 foot poles with a strap of cloth and his own balance between himself and death. Absolute fucking daredevil. He worked at the refinery because he quit his job as a lineman since he thought it was too dangerous.

I've known Power Linemen and they do not make that even as master level. Maybe if you get sent to antarctic or Alaska as a master level lineman to rig up a secret UFO base. I knew a Journeyman and he had to travel between 5-6 six states on a moments notice. He couldn't ever put down roots even for 6 months. Always short term rentals and a very dangerous job. He made like $75,000 give or take and owned a 5th wheel to live in since he's basically a nomad.
They also never explain all the costs with trade schools. Both the lineman from above and a separate electrician friend spent $400 on a single text book and easily $10,000 per level in schooling fees. So $30-$40K by the time you are masters level. Yes they give loans for trade school.

It's all about scholarships. If you are poor you can get financial aid to Ivy Leagues, if you are middle class just go to a less expensive school which offers more scholarships
