They're not that bad in the Caribbean. Crime is virtually non existent on the smaller islands. People are friendly. Food grows on trees. I've been to most islands. I'd stay away from Trinidad and Jamaica because of the crime (but only certain areas), and St.Vincent because of the poverty.
