1. Fix your southern border, slash legal immigration to basically zero.

2. Pass laws preventing corporations like Blackrock from owning residential homes by only allowing corporations to own commercially zoned land, forcing them to sell residentially zoned holdings back to individual people.

That's all it will take. You cut off the inflow of immigrants driving up demand for housing and jobs that don't exist, and prevent corporations from owning all the housing, it will sort itself out in time afterwards.

Or maybe find an apartment suitable for you. I am not sure how it is over there in the US, but in Japan and even here in the Philippines, average rent means mid-tier apartment. If you are only earning minimum wage, then find a minimum-tier apartment. The problem is people try to live beyond their means.

Ban air bnb. Theres fucking whole suburbs with empty houses for most of the year here along the coasts, they just rent them out for thousands per week over easter and xmas holidays. On the flipside you've also got every man and his dog building 'luxury retreats' on their properties in the bush. Soon airbnb fags will be spoilt for choice and the ass will fall out of that market too.
