"money" isn't just hard currency, it's a whole bunch of liquid (i.e. "behaves like money") assets. so when we talk about "money", we talk about multiple kinds of assets. depending on liquidity, we define multiple classes of money: M1, M2 and M3, where M3 contains M2, which contains M1. M1 contains the most liquid assets, M3 contains assets that still behave like money but aren't regarded as quite as liquid as M1 assets. M2 is widely regarded as "liquid enough" to be considered "money", and it's what most economists prefer to look at when talking about "money supply".
in may 2020, the fed moved the asset class of "liquid deposits" from M2 to M1. this includes stuff like savings deposits, so it's obviously a huge portion of M2. moving it to M1 doesn't change anything about M2 (since it contains M1 already, so we're just moving stuff around within M2), but it does creates a huge bump in the curve of M1. Any Forums retards took this bump to mean that the fed 5x'd money supply, when in reality, it's just because the fed changed the categorization of liquid deposits. the buffalo shooter named this bump as the reason for why fiat currency is dying, and this belief probably contributed a good deal to his "no way back, no way forward but violence" mentality.
now, there was indeed a bump in M2, as you can see in the graph in the picture, because the fed did print a lot of money for the coof bailout, but it's nowhere near 5x the previous money supply. a good deal of the inflation we're seeing now is due to that bump, but these aren't even close to truly hyperinflationary levels. tl;dr: don't believe every graph you see on this board kids
