I was thinking the other day about how common psychological issues are. Psychopathy is estimated to affect 1% of general population. My suburb is big and has a population of 20,000. There are ~200 psychopathic people in my suburb where I walk my dog and let my kids play in the playground. Look at other stats like pedophilia which are like 1-5% of male population and apply that to the population of your suburb. By law of statistics these people are around you. Whether or not they act out on their mental issues is another story, but they're around you. I started google searching keywords with my suburb and there's all sorts of crimes over the last few years i had no idea was going on like rapes and burglaries. They just don't make the major news so I wouldn't have known
