Dried and canned goods is a good idea. I've been stacking for probably the last 18 months or so when I saw them start trying to shut the trade routes down because of (((COVID))). Then we had some pretty major crop failures last year globally and now they're having a "fertilizer shortage". Eggs are good but you need to consider feed for them as well. IE here in Canada, they're going to be sitting in a coup for at least 6 months of the year with nothing to eat unless you provide it for them.
Predators love chickens, but yeah, they take very little upkeep outside of food and water.
