Eco was a communist and an illuminist totally incapable of understanding what is essential about the world created by the judeomasonry.

Apart from that, reading his Focault's Pendulum introduced me to the idea that at the top of society there are cults with the most weird beliefs and rituals unsuspectable for those at the bottom. It was way before the internet and that was my first red pill so thank you Umbie.
