Most incels don't voluntarily take the celibacy vow. They first have to go through an involuntary dry spell of several years (or never have gotten laid in the first place) and then they later rationalize that "they're too good for women" or "society is too broken to even try to find a partner". The vow is made at this point reluctantly and to a certain degree voluntarily.
