i don't have insurance and i went to the hospital not too long ago for an asthma attack i had at 3am. would've went to an urgent care for that as they're cheaper, but none were open in my area at that time.
they charged me about $500 for the asthma meds (they put in about $5 worth of asthma meds into a machine). that's just the bill for the meds, there was a physician bill. the physician came to the room, called me Papi (he was a puerto rican guy), listened lungs for about 10 seconds, said "Yep thats asthma." he left. came back, listened to it again after the meds for 10 seconds and said i could go. that cost about $1000 dollars,
so in total it was $1500 for a 1 hour visit. if the price was actually reasonable, i would have paid. if all of that was like $40-50 i would 1000% pay for it. but $1500 for almost nothing? nah fuck that.
im just not paying for is all.
