Inflation is so bad that I cant even afford to fill up my car or pay for my car insurance. Im considering moving to a walkable city where you dont need a car. Is this a smart move? Chicago, NY?
How bad is inflation in your state?
>commieclownifornia
Hilarious. I can't even. 500 bucks for food when the same trip was 250 last year. Lol.
Lmao.
But hey I get to watch all the fixed income boomers cry about it so hahahahahhahahaha import more ass wipers old man! Hope you like cat food! Ha!
Im living in my parents garage with miller lite and eating scrapes.
Is this the life for the tail end of millenials? Just working at some part time job and having enough money just to eat out. Holy fuck things are bad.
i contemplate about poaching more and more. few snares here, some hooked fishing lines there. nobody's gonna miss few squirrels, city birds and fish. more so maybe a cat but oh well
im only in my mid 20s. Like I have a long ass time to live. i cant scrape like this forever. How the fuck am I gonna support myself untill my 80s or whatever.
I'm a millennial and got that part time job, got promoted because everyone else was illiterate and now run the place. Took me 5 years but I've got a family and kids now.
Good luck, I'm sure it isn't as bad as my neighbor but wasting calories and cash on a Wednesday beer isn't going to help you.
5 fucking years at the same job? what industry?
I mean thats great to hear our generation is somewhat succesful but I know I have little patience anymore to deal with peoples shit.
I cant even last a year at a job untill someone has a problem with me for whatever reason. Id rather just go on SSI.
Retail, rural. Very rural. Bought a house, fixed it up, flipped it, repeat etc.
I make 4k a month before taxes and don't waste money on gas and weekday beer, my hobbies are playing with my kids (using my old Legos super cheap) and working out.
To be fair you said you were in mid 20s, I'm mid 30s tail end of millennial. I was in a very similar situation at that age and worked hard, got lucky, worked harder and got luckier. I helped myself with free vices and patience, really helps right now I walk to work and don't spend money on gas. Wife homeschooling the kids so even less gas.
Yeah if your on either coasts its pretty fucked id say.
West and East coast housing is so damn much it would take a lifetime to afford one.
You're complaining about inflation and want to move to a city that is incredibly expensive in a state with the second highest taxes?
Because with no car id just have to pay rent and food. No car would lift a big burden off my shoulders. Plus im single and want to stay that way
I'd agree, the alure of the city is quite the painful trick. My younger brother clears 6 figures easy and whines all the time he will never be able to buy a house in the bay area... but he also day drinks. And night drinks. And middle of the night drinks. And he buys expensive shit, zero savings outside of his 401k.
If you need the city life I can't offer any advice, but living rural isn't as bad as you'd think. Very fast internet, I'm only missing out on concerts and fancy food.
But I cook french food at home for my wife, so meh. Idk I like it but my brother makes fun of my hick ass everytime we talk.
Rent and food is outrageous in NY. And what about your cell phone or internet for a computer, you're posting here and need to look for work too. Clothes in the long run? Other utilities?
Im gonna be honest I prefer living in the city because thats where the resources are. I mean rural is fine but without a car it doesnt seem viable for me. The most ive ever made at a job is like 16 an hour. And that money went quick for me. And im a borderline alcoholic.
rural connecticut, everything is up like 30%
I hear upstate NY though is cheap.
I can wear shitty clothes ive had since i was in high school. and I got a phone payed for.
