There were two terrorist attacks in my country in the '90 before the 'war on terror' you mention.
Iran blew the Israel embassy and later the AMIA a Jewish community centre, causing around 100 casualties and some 500 people injuries.
Anyway no internet back them so most I knew from them was after 9/11 and ISIS.
IDK, Islam is rather diverse, but generally speaking I don't like Muslims and Islam in all of their flavours.
