Is it just me or has EVERY single search engine become completely useless? anything that is even tangentially related to 'wrongthink' is getting search suggestion banned, deranked or just straight up censored. there are NO exceptions, it happens on google, bing, yandex, duckduckgo, qwant, ecosia, etc. >want to find a controversial video from a couple year ago? censored >want to see an official document or report that is politically inconvenient? censored >want to see an article from ONE OF THE APPROVED 'REAL NEWS OUTLETS' which we currently don't want you to know about? censored >want to find a popular quote from a widely respected individual which says something we don't like? (specifically was looking for a kierkegaard quote) censored >want info on any topic which might, under very specific circumstances, reflect poorly on us? censored >want to find pirated content? censored, links you to a place where you can buy it sometimes it will even give you articles about people getting arrested for internet piracy >have a question about any topic, a technical issue, or want suggestions for doing this or that here's 10 pages of SEO-abusing webscraped bot-generated content that says the exact same (useless) thing
If you search something 'wrongthink'y enough they'll even serve you completely unrelated articles about 'disinformation', or in some cases try to threaten you by giving you unrelated IP localized results (as if to say 'I know where you live') this shit is fucking ridiculous, you have to use multiple search modifiers in order to find ANYTHING I've been reduced to searching fucking TWITTER to find old articles, but now they're search banning things on there too how does one find any info nowadays?
yea it’s been like this for a while now, everything you need is still there just moved underground. these sites mostly just spread by word of mouth. to start off try weboasis, they have a lot of links to noteworthy websites linked especially related to piracy but im sure you can find political tripe as well nothing will change, there will never be a “based” search engine (searx is the best as far as piracy goes but otherwise its the same results). just do your part by contributing to these sites and communities
forgot to mention, to use weboasis youll need to find a mirror as the original admin an heroed

Whenever I want to show something a redpill I don't use Google anymore. I simply use on 4plebs because somewhere someone in Any Forums has talked about and already posted the necessary sources or a webm or something. Almost anything you want help with is on Any Forums, and archives have practically all posts on existence. I cracked the code.
Zachary White
>weboasis thanks I'll try that out still holding out hope that a functional search engine can be made also, non-negligible odds that they're going to start gunning for places like this to make sure old posts aren't indexable good advice, tried this a couple times and it works pretty well, tho requires a lot of trial and error for finding the right phrase they're probably going to try taking down these archives eventually tho

Dead internet theory. They’re putting us into a box

I’m having a problem where when I log on a website, paypal emails me a coupon if I use paypal to check out on that website. But the problem is that I’m not logged into paypal anywhere, so how are they getting this specific data to send me the coupon? It has happened on duckduckgo

Tech companies are front to centralize the internet. Easier to control narratives, collect data, and keep things organized for other benefits if everything is constricted into fewer websites. Think about it. Years ago, how many websites did you look at during a single duration of being in the computer? Back then you could “surf” the internet and view all sorts of various webpages and sites dedicated to different topics and ideas. Forums and blogs were the rage and instead of social media platforms people shared their art, music, and other creations on their own webpages or various other hubs. Expression was the norm and despite there being less people, the internet felt less congested. Nowadays everyone and their mother spends endless hours online and you’re not wrong if you notice much of the “magic” being gone. Places like youtube replaced other video sharing platforms. Places like facebook, Twitter, and reddit replaced forums, blogs, and more. Tech companies boosted select few websites and and engines like googled would limited search results to their own liking by corralling everyone to the big websites. YouTube, Facebook, and more would offer monetzation via ad revenue for creators thus promoting people to work harder and jump through hurdles to compete for views. Then when creators started to do that and the sizes grew larger, the sites that hosted the content would clamp down on rules and make things more stringent thus creators would self censor their content for the sake of as revenue and views and to avoid having content removed or being kicked off the platforms. With things like google centralizing the internet, creators have less sites to escape too if they find their hosts too restrictive. Just see how YouTube, twitch, and others text to competition. They’re too big to fail and hosting content elsewhere would fail as these alternative sites aren’t ran by big tech and are censored by them in search results and web hosting.

My internet usage has stayed the same for almost 2 decades. Stop trying to look for the 1% of articles that confirm your beliefs. Use private trackers for piracy.
If you use paypal to checkout... you're using paypal
Leo Rodriguez
You are using the wrong search engine, faggot. Use startpage.com
Xavier Young
yes just do a search for some term on yandex and compare it to google results.
for any politically motivated topic, on yandex you get search results related to the topic.
on google you get search results trying to explain to you why the topic is bad or good from an opinion piece
Cooper Johnson
I use Brave Search and Yandex.
Alexander Taylor
lmfao or multiple debunks and fact checks before you even read about the topic

No search engine is really perfect, so for convenience I just use Searx to combine the results of all of them. The only way we're getting a real search engine is for a full-throated anti-semite to bootstrap one into existence, but good luck with that.
Christian Green
I don’t use it to, I don’t even buy anything on the websites just look at the product. If I look at a part on the home depot website within minutes I get an email from paypal with the coupon saying I can use it for a purchase from home depot
Dylan Green
yeah, pretty clear this is the case none of the 'decentralized' alternatives have amounted to much yet tho, and there's still a hard cap imposed on any such solution from the nature of how ISP's work >just trust the media and google lol die startpage is a google frontend yandex was great for a while, it's getting worse seems to be getting more tightly integrated with microsoft, which is definitely a little suspicious been investigating that for unrelated reasons
Kevin Cruz
Yes, I first began noticing it at least 8 years ago now. Google completely ignores 3/4ths of what you put in and will just direct you to an off topic faggot MSN website or reddit.

Data collection is massive money maker. Even people’s phones and devices like Alexa would be hot mics listening to conversations and sending targeted advertising. People who had Facebook apps on their phones would have targeted ads on Facebook despite not mention such things on Facebook, but due to them having conversations and facebooking using microphone access on their phones to listen in. Every comment you type here and elsewhere on the internet is collected and sold. Either bots scan or websites collect data and sell it. Its not just search results and viewing habits. Even things like google drive, docs, etc, will collect info from you and your cloud saved documents and sell it. Places like Reddit for example have gamification to a T where not only do they promote certain ideas and products, but people will go out of their way to act, type, and upvote a certain way for fake badges, upvotes, and awards.
I bet that Any Forums does similar things too. Aside from data collection for various government agencies around the world of course.

I remember in school having to write papers only referencing real books in the bibliography. Idk what kids do now, but it probably sucks shit and looks retarded
Dominic Perez
Yes. They are quelling actual information.
Dylan Ramirez
I'm not telling you to trust the media and google, I'm telling you to stop actively engaging in classic confirmation bias. You're willingly putting yourself in a logical trap and asking people how to do a better job of it.
Joshua Cook
What are you looking for?
Carson Long
i tried to find some event trump went to after he got out of the hospital from covid and was high out of his mind. nothing showed :(

Some assignments in college required printed sources as well as published papers. If you’re looking for something in that realm you could use Google scholar
Hunter Ward
>startpage is a google frontend Not true, it is an alternative.
Nicholas Jackson
I think that data is overvalued because I have never once seen a targeted ad and wanted to go buy the product. It just doesn’t work on me and I find it hard to believe that it would work on most people. But yes it seems either these stores (Home Depot, overstock, etc) are selling my data to paypal, or my ISP is selling my data
Liam Harris
It sucks because most search engines are in some way utilizing Google. I need a search engine recommendation. What is the best one? Yandex is amazing for finding streams of movies or shows but I’m looking for a comprehensive search engine for anything else
Josiah Wood
I near exclusively look for first-hand docs, I ignore obvious schizo-bait articles too not too long ago they buried a rand corp article, since people were "using in a disinformation context" or something like that it's the petty stuff like this that really pisses me off I understand why they'd want to censor much of the other stuff, but this is just dumb
