Let's Be Honest

The guns of today are NOTHING like the guns they had when the Second Amendment was written. Muskets were slow, inaccurate, and not that powerful. A modern assault rifle is power and can fire dozens of rounds in seconds.

There is absolutely no way that the founding fathers would have been alright with average people owning assault rifles. Muskets, yes, but assault rifles? I don't think so. But even if they did, the founding fathers also owned slaves and kept women from voting. Are they really the kind of role models we need to be looking up to in 2022?

It won't be easy to ban and confiscate assault rifles but we need to at least try instead of being the generation that could have done something but was too afraid of the NRA to try.

Yeah, muskets were waaaay more deadly.
Some had a bore as big as 3/4" that's well beyond a modern .50 cal.

Nothing states an exemption of accurate quick shooting rifles..I'm sure they thought tech would evolve, sorry.

Second Amendment was written so we could defend ourselves against a tyranny. Having muskets would be useless today when the state has AR-15s. As state upgrades citizens must upgrade to still be a threat to the government, which is necessary to preserve a liberal democracy.

You could an entire fuckin warship with cannons when the second amendment was written into the constitution.
I dont think they'd have an issue with AR15s

Waiter, this pasta is stale and lacks seasoning

Fuck off. Privateer warships, cannons, muskets, all forms of weaponry could be owned by private citizens.

herbed

i imagine the musket is also designed specifically for war and killing people

>But even if they did, the founding fathers also owned slaves and kept women from voting. Are they really the kind of role models we need to be looking up to in 2022?
Yes, and for those reasons.

It really is amazing how little self-awareness you dumbfucks have.
>1st amendment only applies to spoken word/quill and ink
>19th amendment no longer exists
should I go on?

no it hasn't

> The speech of today are NOTHING like the speech they had when the First Amendment was written. Presses were slow, inaccurate, and not that powerful. A modern assault tweet is powerful and can reach thousands of in seconds.

You'd have a point if armies around the world would still use muskets & civilians use AR's. But that's not the case. So your point is invalid. Never let anyone take your guns Ameribros. That would literally be the end of Western CIVILIZATION.

Civilians could own the same arms the military possessed, that’s why the second amendment isn’t about bows lol

>it's designed specifically for war, to kill people.
and muskets were designed to what

If anything, keeping to the spirit of the second amendment should allow civilians to own military hardware of all sorts. Tanks, fighter jets, missiles, and so on. The point is that civilians can use their equipment to match the government funded military, in order to overthrow the government.

>Who are the militia? Are they not ourselves? Is it feared, then, that we shall turn our arms each man against his own bosom. Congress has no power to disarm the militia. Their swords and every terrible implement of the soldier are the birthright of Americans.

>muh Founding Fathers wouldn't have wrote the Second Amendment if they'd a knowed about Babby killing salt rifles
Apparently Sherman and Mr Peabody set the Wayback machine to 2013. Here's the problem, Mr Shecklegoldstienburg. The cat is out of the bag. The horse is out of the barn. The Chimpouts of 2020 conviced EVERYONE to go out and buy gun by the literal MILLIONS. Left, Right and Center all went out and kept guns and ammo cleaned off the shelves for over a year. There were months in 2021 whe gun sales topped 3 million a month. And now Pedo Joe is trying to shove that Genie back in the bottle. You know what he's doing? He's trying to ban 80% lowers. The number of guns in private hands has increased by 20 to 30 MILLION in the last two years, and Pedo Joe and the fat fucks at the ATF are trying to ban blocks of aluminum and plastic. Jesus Christ. I don't think Pedo Joe, Hell, who are we kidding, we all know it's really Obama, could possibly be more hilariously incompetent if they tried. I mean, look at you. Here you are witha copy pasta slide thread straight out of the Mom's Demand Blowjobs playback. Holy shit, I hope they aren't actually paying you for this.

Don't be a fucking retard OP... you think these brilliant men couldn't conceive of warfare and weapons becoming more modern?
