By pushing the "reparations" narrative, they're implying that Ukraine will be restored in its foreign "glory" and their 40+ billion investments into the war won't get flushed in vein.
But in the real world, Ukraine will just be european Somalia if it survives in whatever borders, and won't be at all if Russia balkanizes it into many mini-republics.

Just about, yeah. They were at Kiev 2 months ago and now they've almost been pushed all the way back to the Russian border. Donbas offensive has failed and stalled now too so they'll probably leave that after a month too.
