This is going to be a great chance for Putin to call out the NATO bluff. I can imagine starting a nuclear war for Poland, which has a more substantial population and is situated right next to Germany (the main American satrapy in Europe), but would anyone really lift a finger for Finland? Or Estonia, for that matter.

Why don't we send these forces to Ukraine instead? The gains of winning a war in Ukraine are MASSIVE compared to gains of winning a war in Finland, seeing that you would need to make massive infrastructure projects to even integrate finnish economy to your own, what's left of it at least, seeing that we never built more than like couple of roads to Russia, which are easily cut off.

Meanwhile Ukraine has not only the population, but also the climate and natural resources to make it tempting for many ethnic Russians to actually settle there, and you look at Finland, which has pretty terrible lands for exploitation, it's only worth being it's people whom the war would just end up blowing up to smithereens.

Russia will bomb Fin's industrial production completely shutting it down and then the U.S. will send its companies to take over Fin's production which will make Finland indebt to the U.S. and then in order to pay back the U.S. and IMF etc... they'll have to privatize everything. Here is the progression of events.

1.Finland Joins NATO
2. Russia posts a lot of propaganda and threatens Finland
3. Finland increases military in accordance with the mutual defense agreement
4. Russia yells louder, moves nukes to the Finnish border.

Now from here, there are only a few options.

1. Russia is ignored by everyone, and they continue to support Ukraine in their war.

2. Russia attempts to invade Finland, activating Article 5, in which Russia's entire military infrastructure is destroyed within a week.

3. Russia decides to use a tactical nuke in Ukraine in order to 'send a message', and everyone in the world declares war against them as a response. \

The only way to win this game is not to play.

If Finland joins NATO, Russia will nuke Ukraine to show that they are willing to use nuclear weapons.

This will make west reconsider the approach, seeing as they're risking too much. Finland will also get scared of being nuked.

If Russia attacks some other country than Ukraine, it will be Poland or the Baltics or maybe Kazakhstan, since nobody cares about Kazakhstan
