I've been active on the graffiti scene since the 90's. The VAST majority of people putting up good tags are not black. I'm not going to take away from black culture entirely, there are quite a few awesome taggers who are black, but really the VAST majority are white, or asian, or russian/eastern european. Am I the only one who can never read graffiti? The letters are so twisted and malformed that you can't tell what they wrote. And if they happen to do write something in a decipherable font, it's usually just random gibberish, like "damp looks" or "greed monster".
