Burger flippers could earn a decent salary, but the problem isn't other people in offices are earning more, in fact its good that office people are earning enough expendable income so they can purchase burgers. thats a healthy economy.
The problem is the corporate structure of fast food joints that produce a lot of overhead and limit the pay of bottom tier employees like cooks due to various problems.
Owner-operators of small burger joints can make a decent living.

If you want them to give fewer hours, hire fewer people, and close down more locations, go ahead and increase their wages. I don't even want to go fast foods anymore because the prices have become ridiculously fucking overpriced for the shitty food I get. I can't even get full off $10+ anymore and that's even if I choose the best deals they have. Why would I want that when I go to the grocery store and buy a bunch of healthier and better quality food for a fraction of the price? Even quick frozen food you can microwave or throw in the pan is much faster and cheaper than going to the drive-through. If you think you're entitled to own your own place by working at a minimum wage fast food place in a overpopulated shithole city, you should have moved elsewhere and not vote for any politician who supports such unsustainable policies.
