That's actually Jesus referring to Judah in Genesis. Judah plotted with his brothers to kill Joseph but then wanted to lie about him dying by accident and sell him off to slavery. When he says that you are of your father he's referring to Judah who through Genesis exhibits the qualities he is stating. The word devil means slanderer so it's Jesus saying that Judah is a slanderer which is saying that the rest of the tribe is full of slanderers.
