a lot of what is in european colonies is people who got kicked out or fleed by themselves because they feared for their lives or freedom in the old world

Truth has no value in the absence of utility and Christianity is useful regardless of its truth. Its function as a "slave religion" is what kept European society functional and cohesive, and I'm saying this as a historian who has studied the societies preceding it.
