You're worried about the coherence of communication in the "public square", as if that's possible in this environment of mass information manipulation, disinformation, psyops. Do you just not know very much about the over-saturation of these, about how advanced and far along the world has gone to being a mass panopticon? You would have to be very low information to still be concerned with optics and with "getting things right", or the potential impact of credibility for "getting things right". You don't have to lurk here (or anywhere like Any Forums) for very long to get a sense of how controlled communication is now. Boomers are usually the only ones still naive about these things. They still think you can be a naive literalist and just believe the media and the group opinion because these are reliable filters for truth.
It doesn't actually matter what is true, because the majority of people don't actually think, they just feel. Effective communication is only concerned with accuracy if you're a scientist or engineer, not in the realm of society and politics.
