There was debate against the 'bill of rights', took a long time to pass them. The argument against them was that they were not needed - because the constitution did not explicitly grant authority in those areas to the government. They argued that if you passed the 'bill of rights' that it would become believed that it did grant that authority and it was only through the amendments that this power was checked. The people who supported the amendments basically said 'yeah, but people are stupid and will do that anyhow, so we should pass them'.

Heller V DC proved you wrong they stated it was an individual right.

The Second Amendment specifically gaurantees the right to keep and bear arms to "the people" so that they may form militias with their arms. This isn't complicated to people who can read and understand English, which is understandably only a minority of leftists.

No. A militia is a state military, as opposed to a federal army.

The amendment was written in an atmosphere where having just overcome one tyrannical government by force of arms there was concerns the feds were just going to become the next redcoats, therefore states have the right to arm their citizens. Citizens do not de facto have the right to arm themselves.

This was understood up until the 80's, where jewish agitprop took over the NRA and rewrote the constitution by way of pilpul.

"A well regulated militia" was a well understood term in that time and context. Gun control has always been considered legal and constitutional until jewish NRA pilpul in 1980's.
