I'm actually not a conservatard and don't mind the liberal perspective on racial issues- that being said, I just went back to college at 25 and had to do a similar assignment. We read MLK's letter from Birmingham Jail and had to analyze it. It was really cringy seeing all of these people write about BLM and racial injustice and the issues with white people and stuff. I chose to just write about how MLK used lots of references to Christianity to make Christians reconsider whether or not their behavior was in line with their beliefs. I was literally the only student who didn't connect his speech to the BLM movement. It was an awkward experience but I did get an A+
