The Minsk agreements were signed to grant the republics special status in Ukraine, and ensure that they dont attack them anymore, but Ukraine broke those agreements and so Russia interviened on February 24.

Boring vatnik propaganda. By the agreements, the first step was that Donbass and Russian troops allows Ukraine to establish control over the border and run elections according to Ukrainian laws. Then, other parts of the agreements would have been implemented. Russians never cooperated, because they needed some reason to justify the full-scale war later.
That's why Ukraine couldn't run elections and fulfill their other parts of the bargain.

Ukraine was bombing ethnic Russian areas since 2014 over 10k people died, US of A sponsored a color revolution and seized the Ukrainian government, US of A was sponsoring bio warfare labs in Ukraine and Georgia to target Russia, Putin could make a huge amount of profit by leveraging gas and oil with an ivasion of Ukraine.
