>May 9, 2022: PH elections happened. During the night, unofficial tally says Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Sara (((Zimmerman))) Duterte are in the lead for President and VP resprctively over opposition candidate VP Leni Robredo and senator Francis Panilingan.

>As this happens, the Philippines subreddit aka Robredo supporter central seethed and complained that COMELEC, the Marcoses, and the Dutertes sabotaged the elections with faulty machines.

>Robredo supporters tried to storm COMELEC while Marcos supporters gloated over the victory. Any Forums laughs in the distance.

>Now the Robredo appreciation night is over. It happened. The Angat Buhay Lahat foundation was born the same day.

>no but it's too top-down.
You're not wrong, I've been immersed in this environment for far too long.

>to exemplify my claim, i'm saying it'd be more effective to just block tiktok and FB nationwide than it would be to focus on this beef you have with poser intellectuals. what you have is a really remote concern but if you can disprove that then i'd listen more
It is definitely a concern that only involves a small portion of the population, some few millions or so.

Intellectual dishonesty spreads throughout the entire academic system. It is found within teachers as much as it does the student population. The voice of this population, small as they are, is ridiculously amplified by interested parties.

You aren't going to be able to ban tiktok, facebook or whatever porn if you aren't going to be able to get the democratic process to work with you, let alone enforced.

You aren't going to get the democratic process to work with you, if these intellectually dishonest academics that stand in as the legitimate authorities on certain subjects work against you.

How did you come to conclude that social media abuse and porn abuse has lead to a degradation of the minds of its users? You'll need far more than conjecture to get the democratic process to do something about it, you'll need the academia to verify not only the scientific basis of your argument, but also all its other aspects involving validity of the proposed solution.

The academia is a necessary instrument in the enactment of the collective will of society through government. Intellectual dishonesty might not be a widespread plague, sure, but it sure as hell has settled in the most critical areas: the academic authorities.

>all this tribal arguments between Leni and BBM supporters
Fucking idiots amuse me. Taxi drivers in Manila still demand you add on top of the meter or they won't take your ass to your destination. LGU's are still corrupt. Hell, I worked in City Hall for two years during Duterte's term and even something as "harmless" as Environmental Offices had massive corruption (ie budget for tree planting had P500 Million. No trees were planted. NONE). An AMD A4 PC which would've costed just P15,000 during that time (2015) was inflated to P50,000 in the division budget. A computer chair and workdesk which only costs P10,000 total was budgeted as P20,000. Fuck off with the "MUH DUTETE CHANGED OUR COUNTRY HUNYUUUKK!!!" Nothing has changed.

We are still the same corrupt shit country that has different faces and names each election cycle.

H-HOT

> man, words aren't set in stone.
So in an attempt to sound smart you made one yourself like the SJW leftists with their Latinx, Filipinx, zey, zim, zir nonsense. I know I’m not the first guy to say this to you but you aren’t as intelligent you claim to be. I’ve noticed you Filipinos like to be verbose but you have no point or little to no point in the things you say. In short, no substance at all. Why is that?

No libs. Take me back to 1950

Why do they look like a gay couple when they are not in the philippines

1950 of what country to be specific.

A Christian monarchy, with a parliamentary form of government. We need a strong leader at the top that will keep the corrupt politicians in check but at the same time make sure the King doesn't abuse his power and keep the Monarch in check as well. In the end, it acts like a balancing system in place.

We'll be making this threads for the next 6 years, outlasting /PTG/

Okay, okay. But who can be the king is it based on blood or is it by intellect and maturity

Determined by a 3 point basketball contest, of course

Well unless this site gets cucked though. Just saying.
Why six years if we can make it till 2069

By blood so no succession crisis (think of Roman Empire, Byzantine Empire, etc) but at the same time, have checks and balances in place with a parliamentary form of government.

LOL

You need to go back further. We were Hindu subjects. The "pre-colonial Philippines was MUDSLIME!!!" is a meme. Filipinos suffered under Muslims.

Kek kinda sad Bato didn't get a seat though. But in the end they also need to enjoy retirement from public shit and enjoy private life.

>...if you aren't going to be able to get the democratic process to work with you, let alone enforced.
it was a hypothetical so the practicalities of actualizing it are tabled. in all likelihood, it's just impossible but i digress

>The academia is a necessary instrument in the enactment of the collective will of society through government. Intellectual dishonesty might not be a widespread plague, sure, but it sure as hell has settled in the most critical areas: the academic authorities.
no, it's hardly that vital. not in any primary or ultimate sense. the primacy you're placing on academia is on a mere symptom rather than the actual illness. academia after all, doesn't exist in a vacuum. the misgivings you have for a low average of public thinking among thought leaders and parrots still exist in a social hierarchy that already undermines its intellectual values from the outside in. solving your gripe with groupies who use the image of intellectualism for their own virtue-signalling does nothing to defeat the larger tidal wave of social value generation that corrupted these values in the first place. modern academics hold little sway in the collective will of society, as they get deranked and downvoted in the social media systems that make up our increasingly more "real" virtual communities. aside from that, the only academics who do have sway are primarily politicians, and academics only secondary to their cause.

at best, following what you're proposing will only make academic spaces a kind of respite from the "real world" that only gets further out of touch from it. let's say academics and degree holders do uphold this higher standard, what then? it's limited to those institutions. your higher ideal for philippine society still fails to touch the majority of filipinos who ultimately are the ones who decide things in the court of public opinion.
--unless, you're expanding your argument for academia as some omnipresent force that affects all people.
