There is no hiding, all you can do is prepare the best that you can. Buy healthy long-lasting food in bulk to save yourself money with prices going up. Stock up on toilet paper. Save on your bills by moving in with like-minded family so everyone can split them. Stop paying for all streaming media. Start growing your own veggies and raise rabbits or guinea pigs if you can. Hunt whenever you can, learn to use a bow and arrow and get yourself a high-powered .177 pellet gun, then you can hunt deer and small game silently regardless of gun laws. Buy .38/.357 revolvers in private sales while you still can, .38's are cheap and .357's are stronger guns and will last longer shooting .38's which are also cheaper in bulk, they are common in private sales and can be a throwaway gun if you need it. Buy a .45-70 so you can hunt deer and bear with the same round, as well as be able to disable a vehicle by putting a round through the radiator and also shoot through more than one attacker when they line up, 500 grain Buffalo Bore for intermediate barrier penetration. 45-70 with high-powered ammo is the most practical portable cannon in combination with its loading capacity.
Fish as often as you can, find spots where there are fish you can catch using non-store bought bait, or even a handline or a line on a stick so you don't need a fishing pole. Locate remote areas with access to water from small creeks that aren't on maps and find out if they run year-round or if only for a few months, if you're forced to bug out you'll run into the least number of people that way. Buy a large backpack you can put groceries in if you're forced to go shopping or go to food banks on foot. Stock up on tea tree oil to treat wounds and prevent them from getting infected so you don't have to go to a doctor for antibiotics. Don't tell anyone you don't absolutely trust about your prepping and planning. If you're planning on having children, don't, you're just raising soldiers for the enemy.
