They are going to wipe out the bulk of the Ukrainian forces at Donbass. A couple million Ukrainian soldiers are about to be slaughtered then Putin will negotiate from that vantage point. If Zelensky refuses then Putin will send all their forces on Kiev at that point since Ukraine won't have anything left in the east.

what happened is that the whole Kyiv "occupation" narrative was pushed by the MSM. Russia didn't take a single attempt at either storming or besieging Kiev.
But what we know is that the reportedly 300,000-strong Ukrainian contingent near Donbass is now only around 60,000-strong. Wonder where they all went?

Here's an interesting fact, maybe you guys missed:
During the first week of Russia's occupation of Kiev's outskirts, there was an official video recorded by Russian soldiers, showing SSO troops addressing the Kiev population with promises to liberate them.
This kind of propaganda was literally officially created and dropped on the web with Russian MoD approval. And the speech looked pretty scripted rather than honest.
After this official appeal, not a single attempt to storm the capital was made.
I don't know about you, but to me this seems like you know what. Why declare your military intentions prior to actually making the move?

It's a pretty good strategy. Push a threat right to the capital and stand there menacing them so they keep forces close to protect the capital. This keeps the Ukrainians from concentrating additional forces in Donbas. Then when the Russians retreat its too late for the Ukrainians to amass in Donbas to reinforce their fighters
