Pigs are boars that are domesticated so they lose ferocity. A dog is wolf that was domesticated over a long time. So if you somehow manage to get a population of pigs born in the wild, they're likely to be less dangerous than an actual boar, but still a problem, just like with a feral dog vs a wolf.

If you want to actually control them, don't allow hunting and have fish and game trap and kill them. Allow hunting and you will never be rid of them and the population will explode. This issue could be effectively solved in one season if a nationwide cull was issued and hefty bounties were paid out. Lets say they do a billion in damages each year, make three billion available strictly for paying the bounties and if you cant cheaply repurpose the carcasses dump them far out to sea and let nature take care of it. You would eliminate 99% of them in one fell swoop.
