The point isn't to put hunter in jail, this is either:
1) Blackmail to force Biden to commit troops to Russia and start ww3
2) Expose the the conflict of interest (corruption) of having Joe take a cut of Hunter's "consultancy fees", which are paid on provision of Joe having the power to gib billions in military aid to Ukraine since at least 2014.

I don't think the leftist media would rally around exposing Joe's corruption just to get him out of office. If they had a candidate better than Joe he never would've been fielded in the first place. I think this is far more likely to be blackmail.
