Freedom of Speech Is Distinct From Freedom of the Press

Freedom of the press just means allowing journalists who have been privileged enough to get college degrees from decent universities and have been screened by the owners of mainstream media corporations to broadcast their ideas. Freedom of speech means allowing everybody to do so without limit. Freedom of speech is more absolute.

My whole point is that freedom of the press doesn't equal freedom of speech, since journalists are only allowed to make the statements approved of by the people in charge of the news organization they work for, and only certain people are allowed to become journalists, and an even smaller number of people are even able to afford the gamble that is getting a degree in journalism, and their views don't represent the views of the vast majority of the population, and the interests of the subgroups they were born into don't represent the interests of the vast majority of the population.

Well fucking said. I would also like to add that democracy doesn't exist at ALL in this country and the "elected representatives undergo a similar screening process.
