It's likely to work somewhat, more at preventing death than hospitalization. There are other promising drugs, also verboten, but that aren't so easily accessible as ivermectin to the general public (both due to its long history of safe use in humans, and the drug also being sold in ag stores).

you dont need to take it for covid. people always forget that ivermectin was never used alone to treat covid. it was always one medicine in a "cocktail" of a bunch of other medicines.

It works on people who have parasites, because dexamethasone which is used in treatment of covid allows parasites to run rampant, and ivermectin prevents that. It has no effect if you're parasite free.
This is why we see positive studies in parasite-prone regions like Brazil and India, and zero positive effect in regions like Canada. If you eat like shit and live in the third world, yes ivermectin will probably improve your covid outcome, but it would have improved your health anyway.
