achuuaaallly we were the first to carve out a chunk out of the united mhugal empire and buck break india, anglos just stole the colony by blocading it and then slowly took over the desunited pieces of india, while we buck broke a united indian empire and conquered a third of it

Said small island had 250,000 troops in 1800s, the world's largest navy at the time. The EIC army and British army combined were larger than any Indian state armies in late 1700s and 1800s. For reference the Maratha army which was the largest in India was 150,000.
Why do people act like Indians being conquered by the British was some extremely special thing? The EIC crushed China, Persia, Afghanistan, Egypt, every Eastern/Oriental power that came in contact was decimated. India was just the first. The British didn't capture China because they already had India.
Most of these maps are exaggerated. The reality is that the French didn't control besides a few port cities and neither did the Portuguese expand beyond Goa, Daman and Diu and a few other ports.
