This wasn't a slow switch either, but a massive and quick switch. These cities and towns were not prepared for it or the speed of the migration. Like not just housing, but major infrastructure changes are needed to accommodate all these people. I know my mid sized Floridian town is having MASSIVE issues with traffic and sewage because of all the fucking people.

Mhmm. It's all over Florida. I'm in the north and it's the same situation. A house that was 1250 a month is now 2200. It's insane. Luckily I live in the same town as my parents and I'm not a deadbeat so I was able to move in with them, but it is actually insane.
